The Pembroke Dock Marine initiative is a transformational project for Wales and the rest of the UK creating clear opportunities for industry on the west coast of Wales. It will establish a world class centre for marine energy and engineering with a focus on delivering leading edge industry R&D and maximised opportunities for operational efficiencies. Pembroke Dock Marine will help drive the growth of zero-carbon, marine energy technologies supporting developers on their journey through the design, test, build and deployment of their devices, while also providing opportunities for industrial innovation across the blue and green sectors.
Pembroke Dock Marine will deliver the facilities, services and spaces needed to establish a world-class centre for marine engineering. It will have cross-industry application, but its immediate focus is on the low carbon energy sector. This £60m development is funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal, the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government, and through private investment.
