About the opportunity

The South West Wales Corporate Joint Committee is inviting expressions of interest from experienced private sector leaders to act as Advisors to its Private Sector Advisory Board. The Board will provide timely private sector insight, constructive challenge, market intelligence and ambassadorial support to help shape regional priorities across economic wellbeing, energy, transport, strategic planning, and related investment opportunities.

This is a non-decision-making advisory role. Advisors will help test emerging policy, delivery and investment propositions at an early stage, contribute practical sector knowledge, and strengthen links with business, investor, funder and partner networks where this can add value to the region.

Closing date for applications – 2 October 2026

Role of Board Advisors

Board Advisors will be expected to contribute strategically and constructively to the work of the Private Sector Advisory Board. This may include providing market insight, identifying opportunities and risks, testing strategic propositions, participating in focused task and finish groups, and acting as ambassadors for South West Wales through relevant business, sector and national networks.

Appointments will normally be for a fixed term of two years, with the option of renewal where contribution, attendance and strategic fit remain strong. The Board is expected to meet quarterly, with additional focused sessions convened where a defined strategic issue, investment proposition or opportunity requires timely private sector advice.
