Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials
The Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials (CISM) at Swansea University is a £55 million joint investment by the UK and Welsh Governments and industry, providing a world-class facility for semiconductor research, innovation and commercialisation.
Operating as an industrial-scale pilot foundry, CISM bridges academic discovery and advanced manufacturing, driving growth across the South Wales CS connected Cluster.
Working alongside anchor partners including Vishay, IQE, KLA SPTS, Microchip, the Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult and Cardiff University’s Institute for Compound Semiconductors, CISM forms part of Europe’s first compound semiconductor cluster, an integrated ecosystem spanning R&D, wafer fabrication, device development and manufacturing.
CISM is seeking strategic partners and co-investors to expand fabrication capability, scale translational R&D and accelerate commercial deployment.
